Jamie B. Rosenberg, MD, Elected to AUPO Program Directors Council & Appointed to Journal of Academic Ophthalmology Editorial Board

Dr. Rosenberg’s national appointments this past year recognize her continued leadership in ophthalmology education, residency training and academic scholarship at Montefiore Einstein and beyond.

Jamie B. Rosenberg, MD, Attending Physician of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at Montefiore Einstein and Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences and Director of the Ophthalmology Residency Training Program at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, has been elected as member-at-large for a seven-year term to the Program Directors Council (PDC), Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology (AUPO) and appointed to the editorial board of the Journal of Academic Ophthalmology. These national recognitions reflect her continued leadership in ophthalmology education and academic scholarship.

The AUPO Program Directors Council is composed of seven elected residency program directors from academic ophthalmology programs nationwide and plays a central role in shaping educational initiatives and addressing issues critical to residency training. As a member-at-large, Dr. Rosenberg will contribute to national efforts to plan educational activities and address issues pertinent to ophthalmology residency program directors and graduate medical education.

Dr. Rosenberg’s appointment to the editorial board of the Journal of Academic Ophthalmology, the official journal of AUPO, further underscores her contributions to academic ophthalmology. The journal serves as a national and international forum for the publication and scholarly exchange of ideas and information in academic ophthalmology, with a focus on medical education, resident and fellow training, health education research, policy and regulation. As a recognized leader in ophthalmic education and research, Dr. Rosenberg joins an editorial board composed of leaders in ophthalmology education and academic medicine.

Dr. Rosenberg is widely recognized for her contributions to medical student and resident education. She previously received the AUPO Excellence in Medical Student Education Award, a nationally conferred honor established through funding from AUPO and the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and presented annually to a single recipient in recognition of outstanding contributions to medical student education. She has also been honored with the Harry H. Gordon Award for Outstanding Clinical Teaching at Montefiore Einstein.
