Laurie E. Cohen, MD, President of the Pediatric Endocrine Society
As president of the Pediatric Endocrine Society (PES), Laurie E. Cohen, MD, Chief, Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes, Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein and Professor, Pediatrics (Endocrinology and Diabetes), Albert Einstein College of Medicine, is leading efforts to transform endocrine care for children and families nationwide.
Dr. Cohen is recognized as a leader in her field, with groundbreaking work on how childhood cancers affect the endocrine system. She joins the board of directors in guiding PES's mission of advancing endocrine health for children and young people, improving the overall health and well-being of children with diabetes. Under her leadership, the society is strengthening care by supporting healthcare professionals through comprehensive patient and clinician education programs, research initiatives, and advocacy efforts that directly impact families.
Through PES's network of over 1,600 members representing multiple disciplines in pediatric endocrinology, Dr. Cohen is championing collaborative approaches that improve clinical practice and research outcomes across the country. The society's resources and connections enable healthcare professionals to improve their clinical practice and research.
Dr. Cohen's three-year board commitment began as president-elect in May 2024, continuing as president in May 2025, and on the Board of Directors as Past-President in May 2026.
