Kevin Fiori, MD, MPH, MS, Celebrates Global Milestone and Secures New CHW Grants
Kevin Fiori MD, MPH, MS, celebrated the 20th Anniversary of Integrate Health, an organization he co-founded with his partner, Jennifer Schechter, during their Peace Corps Service. Over the past two decades, this organization has grown to support over 325,669 individuals across 30 health centers in Guinea and Togo. The Department of Pediatrics has partnered with Integrate Health to support research initiatives in both countries through the Community Health Systems Lab based in the Division of Community and Population Health.
Kevin Fiori, MD, MPH, MS, received two grants in 2025 to support the continued integration of community health workers into clinical care. In March 2025, he was awarded a $150,000 grant from the New York Health Foundation for the project “Integrating Community Health Workers into Primary Care Teams, Phase 2,” which runs from April 1 through September 30, 2025, and focuses on optimizing activities around the integration of community health workers in clinical care. Building on this work, in October 2025 Dr. Fiori received an additional $200,000 grant from the Ira W. DeCamp Foundation for “Integrating Community Health Workers in Clinical Practice,” supporting expanded optimization efforts from October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2027.
