Frederick Kaskel, MD Receives IPNA Ira Greifer Award
Frederick Kaskel, MD, received the International Pediatric Nephrology Association (IPNA) Ira Greifer award at the 20th International Pediatric Nephrology Association Congress in Capetown, South Africa. This award, named after Dr. Ira Greifer, one of the founders of the field of Pediatric Nephrology who created one of the first Children’s Dialysis and Transplant Centers on the East Coast of the United States at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, recognizes individuals who have demonstrated local and/or national leadership and have made significant contributions to IPNA. Dr. Kaskel was recognized for his career in clinical translational research, his local and national leadership roles, including serving as President of the American Society of Pediatric Nephrology, and his many contributions to IPNA and the international pediatric nephrology community.
