First Complete Radiation-Free Atrial Fibrillation Ablation Procedure Using AI 3D-Guided Ultrasound
Professors Luigi Di Biase and Xiaodong Zhang performed the first worldwide cardiac ablation procedure using an AI algorithm to create real-time 3D maps of a patient’s heart that visualizes cardiac structures and guides the catheter to the exact location where the ablation is needed, completely avoiding radiation exposure. In addition, a new temperature-controlled catheter was employed which achieves transmural lesions ensuring procedural success while maintaining safety.
