Montefiore Einstein Cardiothoracic Residents Recognized for Excellence at 105th American Association for Thoracic Surgery Annual Meeting
Congratulations to Montefiore Einstein Cardiothoracic Residents J. Humberto Rodriguez, MD, Grace Ha, MD, and Rajika Jindani, MD, for their outstanding honors at the 105th American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS) Annual Meeting in Seattle.
Dr. Rodriguez was awarded the top prize for the AATS Cardiothoracic Resident Abstract Mini Oral Competition with his presentation, “A Contemporary Nationwide Analysis of Neoadjuvant Regimens for Resectable Esophageal Adenocarcinoma.”
Dr. Ha was awarded the Women in Thoracic Surgery Colson Scholarship to attend the annual meeting and, as part of the award, was mentored by Betty Tong, MD, MHS, MS, Chief, Thoracic Surgery, Duke University.
Dr. Jindani presented the only thoracic oncology abstract, “Mono-ADP-Ribosyl-Transferase-1 (ART1) Facilitates Tumor Growth and Treatment Resistance of EGFR-Mutated Lung Tumors,” in the highly competitive C. Walton Lillehei Resident Forum.
“Drs. Humberto, Ha and Jindani are great examples of what our residents should strive for academically,” said Brendon M. Stiles, MD, Chief, Thoracic Surgery and Surgical Oncology, Montefiore Einstein, Associate Director, Surgical Oncology, Montefiore Einstein Cancer Center; and Professor, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
